Carl Desjardins

Carl Desjardins is an experienced professional in the grains and oilseeds trading sector, currently serving as Head of Grains and Oilseeds Trading at Vitol since December 2022. Prior to this, Carl held the position of Chief Trader for the Grains Division at Olam from February 2016 to December 2022. Carl's career also includes significant roles at BTG Pactual as Head Global Grains Trader, and various positions at Louis Dreyfus Commodities, including Head of Grains for Asia/Australia and Senior Trader in the Grains Platform. Carl began the career at Louis Dreyfus Commodities as a Trainee Trader and Grains & Oilseeds Trader. An alumnus of Dartmouth College, Carl earned a BA in Economics and French Literature between 1998 and 2002.
