Mattias Hartveit

Mattias Hartveit is an experienced Commercial Analyst at Vitol since July 2022, specializing in utilities. Prior to this role, Mattias served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Rochester from May 2019 to July 2022, focusing on light-matter interactions in glassy liquid crystal mesostructures to explore innovative optical devices. Earlier, Mattias was an Undergraduate Research Assistant involved in the synthesis of liquid crystals and development of techniques for device manufacture. Mattias also completed a virtual internship with Equinor in the Drilling and Well department and worked as a Research Assistant at the Laboratory of Laser Energetics, where work included the synthesis of novel photo-switchable chemicals. Educationally, Mattias obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 2020 and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering in 2022, both from the University of Rochester.
