Sophie Boutopoulos

Sophie Boutopoulos is an experienced legal and commercial advisor with a strong background in international trading and shipping, particularly in the LNG and oil sectors. Currently serving as a Legal Advisor at Vitol Group since November 2016, Sophie previously worked at Shell in various roles, including Commercial Advisor for LNG Trading and Oil Trading, where responsibilities encompassed drafting and negotiating key agreements and providing comprehensive commercial advice. Sophie's career began in demurrage analysis across several Shell Trading entities, where significant financial claim negotiations were executed. Academically, Sophie holds a PG Diploma in Maritime Law, a Legal Practice Course qualification, and an LLB (Hons) in Law, along with memberships from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
