Marina Felisbino

Senior Scientist at VitriVax

Marina Felisbino began their work experience as a PHD student at the State University of Campinas in 2012. Their research focused on the effects of valproic acid and trichostatin A on chromatin organization and its regulation by epigenetic factors in HepG2 cells grown under hyperglycemic conditions. Marina completed their PHD in August 2016.

In June 2016, Marina became the coordinator of the scientific communication project "Blog Ciência pelos Olhos Delas," an initiative affiliated with the University of Campinas. The project aims to produce and release original texts featuring women in science. Marina continues to oversee the project, which now has six collaborators.

Following their PHD, Marina worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus from March 2017 to September 2021. Their research focused on the epigenetic regulation of cardiac fibroblast senescence by Class I Histone Deacetylases. During their time in this role, Marina also served as a Course Facilitator.

In September 2021, Marina joined Inscripta, Inc. as a Senior Scientist. Their work at Inscripta lasted until January 2023. Marina then transitioned to their current role as a Senior Scientist at VitriVax, where they have been since February 2023.

Marina Felisbino earned their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2009. Marina then pursued a Master's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at UNICAMP from 2010 to 2012. Building upon their master's studies, Marina completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at UNICAMP from 2012 to 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Marina has obtained several certifications. In May 2020, they completed the courses "Being a Good Mentee," "Developing a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Program," "Giving and Receiving Feedback," and "Writing a Compelling Blog Post" offered by LinkedIn. In April 2020, they also completed the course "Body Language for Women" on LinkedIn. Furthermore, Marina obtained a certification in "Produção de Conteúdo Web" from Rock Content in May 2020.
