Camila Uzcategui, PhD, is currently serving as the Co-founder and CEO of Vitro3D, a position they have held since August 2020. Previously, from August 2021 to May 2022, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Colorado Boulder, focusing on optics, materials science, and tissue engineering. Prior to that, from August 2016 to August 2021, they were a Researcher at the same university, specializing in the same fields.
In addition, Camila worked as a Student Researcher at Florida International University from August 2013 to August 2016, where they were a part of the Theoretical Biophysics Group. Their responsibilities included literature search and utilizing computational capabilities provided by high-performance university clusters.
Furthermore, Camila served as a Research Intern at SRI International from May 2015 to August 2015, where they contributed to the design, fabrication, and evaluation of a diagnostic device for reverse transcript quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR).
Lastly, from September 2012 to April 2013, they worked as a Student Researcher in the Applied Anthropology in GSS project at Florida International University, conducting research on the effects of environmental seasonality on human health trends and presenting relevant information to an assistant professor of anthropology.
Camila Uzcategui, PhD, has a strong academic background in science and engineering. Camila obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, where they studied from 2016 to 2021. Prior to their PhD, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the same institution, from 2016 to 2018.
Before pursuing their graduate studies, Camila earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics (B.S.) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Anthropology from Florida International University. Camila was enrolled at Florida International University from 2011 to 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Camila Uzcategui has also obtained a certification in Understanding and Visualizing Data with Python from Coursera in December 2019.
