Ashley Smithson

Ashley Smithson, FSA, MAAA, currently serves as the Director Managing Actuary at VIVA HEALTH since February 2022. Prior to this role, Ashley worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama from April 2013 to February 2022, where significant contributions included leading the risk programs actuarial team, enhancing data analytics, and developing Excel models for ACA programs. Ashley's earlier experience includes an actuarial analyst position at Protective Life Insurance Company, focusing on innovative insurance solutions and product pricing, as well as a financial advisor internship at Edward Jones. Ashley holds a degree in Mathematics/Economics from UC Santa Barbara and has additional education from HKUST Business School.
