Matthew Parker Ph.D.

Matthew Parker, PhD, MBA has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Matthew is currently serving as the Director of Pharmacy Operations and Performance Analytics at VIVA HEALTH. Prior to this, they held various positions at the company, including Associate Director of Pharmacy Operations, Manager of Pharmacy Operations, and Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations.

Before joining VIVA HEALTH, Matthew worked at MedSnap as a Senior Business Analyst and Lab Manager, where they gained experience in business analysis and laboratory management. Matthew also worked as a Quality Engineer Assistant at MedSnap.

In addition, Matthew has teaching experience as an Adjunct Faculty in Biology at Judson College and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Throughout their career, Matthew has demonstrated strong analytical and leadership skills. Matthew has been involved in projects related to cost management, benefit review, process mapping, quality improvement, and data analytics in the pharmacy operations field.

Matthew obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biology and Classics, respectively, from Samford University between 2007 and 2011. Matthew then pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Biology, Biomedical Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2011 to 2013.

Motivated by their passion for business administration and management, Matthew Parker acquired a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014. Continuing their academic journey, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Services Administration, specializing in the field of study, from 2017 to 2022, again at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
