David Tsao

David Tsao is a highly experienced cybersecurity professional, currently serving as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Instacart since November 2022, overseeing Security Engineering, IT, and Governance, Risk & Compliance teams. As a co-founder of SVCI - Silicon Valley CISO Investments, Tsao advises startups and contributes to the evolution of the cybersecurity industry. Previously, Tsao held leadership roles such as VP Security Engineering (CISO) at Marqeta, Global Information Security Officer (CISO) at Veeva Systems, and Head of InfoSec (CISO) at BYTON. Tsao co-founded Gambassa and served on the advisory board of VivoSecurity, demonstrating a strong commitment to cybersecurity innovation. With a foundational background in IT security and risk management at Gilead Sciences and experience in research informatics at Sony Electronics, Tsao combines technical expertise with strategic oversight in the field. Educational background includes a B.S. in Chemistry with a focus on Biochemistry from Pacific Union College.
