Jen Blankenship is a clinical scientist who has worked in the field for 11 months. Jen is currently employed at VivoSense, Inc. and their research focuses on optimizing the metabolic health benefits of behavioral lifestyle interventions to prevent and manage chronic cardiovascular and metabolic disease.
Blankenship began their career as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where they studied how evening exercise may impact insulin sensitivity through its effects on sleep and nocturnal fat metabolism using whole room calorimetry. Jen then went on to work as an Endeavour Postdoctoral Fellow at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Australia, where they studied sedentary behavior epidemiology and accelerometer data processing techniques.
Blankenship is a team scientist who has collaborated with researchers across multiple disciplines, including nutrition, cancer, geriatrics, and physical therapy. Her work has led to fruitful collaborations with researchers across the globe and they are currently working on several papers that are under peer-review.
Jen Blankenship has a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Kinesiology from 2013-2017. They also have a Master of Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Kinesiology from 2010-2013.
