Joel Hoffman

Joel Hoffman has a diverse work history in the museum industry. Joel served as the Executive Director/CEO at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens from 2004 onwards. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice Director for Education & Program Development at the Brooklyn Museum from 2000 to 2003. Joel also worked as the Associate Director for Programs and Administration at The Wolfsonian-FIU from 1996 to 2000.

Joel Hoffman started their education journey in 1981 at the University of Pennsylvania, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. Joel completed their undergraduate studies in 1985. Later, from 1987 to 1993, Hoffman attended Yale University, where they obtained a Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. in Art History.
