Thomas Overvad has extensive work experience in the finance and investment field. Thomas started their career in 1988 as a consultant at Garantifonden for Danske Optioner og Futures. Thomas then worked as the Head of Derivatives Sales at Unibank/Privatbanken from 1989 to 1997. Following that, they served as the Deputy Treasurer at East Asiatic Co from 1997 to 1998. Thomas then joined Nykredit Bank as the Head of Fixed Income Sales and Derivatives, where they managed a team of 22 salespeople and was responsible for team development, internationalization, and building a derivatives desk. In 2001, they became the Chief Investment Officer at Lundbeckfonden until 2004. Thomas also worked as a Censor at Copenhagen Business School in 2002. From 2002 to 2020, Thomas held various roles at Finansforeningen og CFA Society Denmark, including being a Board Member and Chairman of the committee Finansfunktionen. In 2004, they joined VKR Holding as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and remained in that position. In 2014, Thomas became the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Fixed Income & Alternatives at VILLUM FONDEN og VELUX FONDEN, where they worked until 2021. Most recently, they assumed the role of CEO at SolarCap in 2017.

Thomas Overvad completed their MSc in Economics from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, from 1983 to 1988. In 1999, they took a course in Strategic Management in Banking at INSEAD. During their time at The American International School · Vienna, from 1975 to 1979, information about their degree and field of study is not available.
