Sabine Demey is an accomplished professional in the field of artificial intelligence and software research, currently serving as the Director of both the Flanders Artificial Intelligence Research Program and imec since January 2020. Prior to this, Sabine held the position of Managing Director at Welkeraad from January 2017 to August 2023, focusing on software R&D and IT management. Extensive experience at Materialise spanned from February 1997 to December 2019, where roles included Senior Director of Research & Technologies, CIO, and various directorships in business units and development. From August 2014 to August 2018, Sabine also directed Materialise Ukraine LLC. Educational background includes a PhD in Engineering Science with a specialization in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering, as well as a Master of Science in Engineering: Computer Science, both from KU Leuven.
