Steven Vermeulen

Steven Vermeulen currently serves as the CIO and Head of ICT at Digitaal Vlaanderen since April 2024. As the owner of IMACE since April 2014, Steven consults startups on financial and technical strategy while leading business development for international companies. In addition, Steven has been the Chairman of the board at TC Molenbos since September 2010. Previous roles include Director of Innovation at the Human Brain Project and CIIO at EBRAINS AISBL, both from September 2020 to October 2023, as well as Group CIO at BD myShopi from October 2016 to May 2019 and CTO at Remedus in early 2016. Early career highlights include co-founding Optism and serving as Senior Solution Director at Alcatel-Lucent, where Steven led product management for the Alcatel softswitch portfolio. Steven's educational background includes an MBA from Flanders Business School and advanced studies in Computer Science and Physics from KU Leuven.
