Sheila McAndrew

Sheila is a trusted advisor adept at counseling business leaders, minimizing legal risk exposure and managing projects across a broad-based, complex, global business. Having spent over 20 years as counsel for International Business Machines Corporation, she is known for being responsive and service-focused, and for her ability to quickly distill complex concepts.

She has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating and managing commercial transactions, with particular focus on intellectual property and licensing. Her expertise also extends to employment law — she counsels clients on best practices to minimize the risk of employment litigation and assists clients in their compliance with state and federal laws.

Sheila grew up in Queens and now lives in Westchester with her husband and two children. She attended St. John’s University Law School on a full academic scholarship where she was a published member of the Law Review. She is an active member of her community; she is an Executive Board member of her local PTA organizations, and has worked with Abbott House to help enable the human services non-profit transform its volunteer program. She has also helped renovate Westchester homes with Habitat for Humanity, and has provided pro bono services for veterans, immigrants, and large organizations such as the United Way.
