VMDO Architects
Ryan Carbone is a Designer at VMDO Architects since March 2021, bringing a strong architectural background that includes experience as an Architectural Associate at PARABOLA Architecture + Industrial Design from November 2016 to April 2020, and as a Lecturer at the University of Virginia from January 2015 to August 2016. Prior to these roles, Ryan gained hands-on experience as a Carpenter at Euclidean Construction between September 2009 and May 2012. Ryan holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia (2012-2014) and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2003-2007).

VMDO’s designs have achieved international and national acclaim from a variety of societies and associations, including: the American Institute of Architects’ Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA CAE), the Society for College and University Planners (SCUP), and sequential awards in 2016, 2017, and 2018 from the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). Our commitment to sustainability is evidenced by receipt in 2010 and 2017 of Top Ten AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) awards – considered the industry’s premier accolade for sustainable design.
