Ellie Sweeney

Ellie Sweeney is Chief Executive Officer at Vocus.

Guided by Vocus’ purpose of ‘building critical connections, enabling better possibilities’, Ellie is leading the largest investment strategy in the company’s history: a $1 billion, five-year program that will solidify Vocus’ position as owner and operator of Australia’s second-largest intercapital fibre network.

Prior to her appointment as CEO, Ellie was Chief Operating Officer at Vocus from 2019-2023, where she led the company’s digitisation and network transformation program, the expansion of Vocus’ reach and capacity to establish a highly secure national fibre backbone, and a significant uplift in customer experience.

Before joining Vocus Ellie held several senior executive roles at Telstra, most recently Executive Director Global Sales leading the international business across 22 countries.

Ellie has worked in the global telecommunications industry for over 20 years. She has experience across all customer segments and has led large scale transformations. Ellie is passionate about the impact technology can have in changing people’s lives and the role Vocus can play in changing the Australian telecommunications landscape for the better.

Ellie holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.
