Maria Donnelly

Maria joined Aware Super (formally known as First State Super) in 2017 as a Portfolio Manager. Maria was responsible for establishing the strategy for management of direct assets and ongoing oversight of the portfolio and has jointly led the origination and execution of a number of direct investments for Aware Super, including Victorian Land Registry Servicesand Vocus Group.

Maria has 16 years’ experience in the Australian infrastructure sector. Over this period, Maria has worked in both a principal and an advisory capacity across a broad range of infrastructure transactions in Australia and the UK. Before Aware Super, Maria worked in the Investment Banking division at Merrill Lynch in Sydney including working on a number of landmark transactions such as the Queensland Governments $15bn privatisation program and the proposed sale of Queensland’s Government Network Assets. Maria spent the early part of her career at Deutsche Asset Management.

Maria holds a Master’s in Applied Finance (Macquarie University) and a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics (University of Queensland).
