Morné Leander has extensive experience in UX design and product design, with a focus on mobile channels. Morné has been working at Vodacom since 2017, initially as a Senior User Experience Specialist and currently as the UX Design Lead for mobile channels. In these roles, they have been responsible for user research, data analysis, persona creation, wireframing, prototyping, and presenting screen flows. Morné has also worked within cross-functional Agile teams and utilized business requirements to design interfaces for mobile apps, websites, and portals. Prior to joining Vodacom, Morné worked as a User Experience Consultant and Designer at ThoughtWorks from 2015 to 2017. Morné also has experience as a UX/UI designer at Gijima from 2012 to 2015. Morné has a background in graphic design and founded their own company, Designcircle, from 2010 to 2014, where they managed the creative, business, sales, and accounts. Morné has also worked as a freelance graphic designer at Brandsmiths from 2011 to 2012 and held graphic design roles at Ince, Black Sheep Concepts, AllyCat Publishing, and Purple Hat: Marketing & Ad. Co earlier in their career.
Morné Leander obtained a Matric from St Thomas Secondary School, after completing their studies from 1992 to 1997. Morné then pursued a Graphic Design degree at Nelson Mandela University from 1999 to 2004, and obtained a Graphic Design Diploma from NMMU (Nelson Mandela Metropole University) in February 1999. Additionally, Morné Leander obtained a certification in AgilePM from APMG International in 2018.
