Cristina Azevedo has extensive experience in various roles and organizations. Cristina worked at Vodacom Mozambique as the Head of Foundation and Sustainable Business, where they were responsible for co-creating and executing social investment and sustainability strategies. Cristina also drove the local ESG agenda, working on energy efficiency, decarbonization, circularity, sustainability in the supply chain, and diversity and inclusion. Cristina also worked as an Advisor for Corporate Affairs at Vodacom Mozambique.

Prior to that, Cristina was an Impact Catalyst at ideiaLab, where they focused on generating social impact. Cristina also worked as an Independent Consultant, specializing in monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Cristina has experience in M&E frameworks, evaluations, research, and knowledge mobilization.

Cristina also served as the Evaluation, Learning, and Advocacy Manager at the Citizen Engagement Programme. Cristina worked as a Consultant in governance, civil society, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and evaluation.

Additionally, Cristina worked as the Coordinator of the national baseline registration of social protection beneficiaries at the National Institute for Social Action/MIGCAS. Cristina also provided consultancy services for the development of the National CSR Policy for the Extractive Industries at the Mineral Resources Ministry. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Project Manager at IMVF - Instituto Marquês de Valle Flor, focusing on human rights and access to justice.

Cristina Azevedo completed their Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in International Relations, with a focus on Cooperation and Development, at the School of Economics, University of Coimbra from 1998 to 2003. Cristina also obtained a Post Graduation Diploma in Human Rights and Democracy from the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation in 2003. Additionally, they completed various training courses, including Business and Human Rights at HREA and UPeace in 2013, Human Rights Based Programming at Human Rights Education Associates in 2011, and Project Management and MS Project at Tecnicol in 2008. Furthermore, they pursued a Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation course at the International Institute for Local Development in 2014. Cristina Azevedo holds additional certifications, including ESG and Social Activism and ESG Risks and Opportunities from The Wharton School in 2023 and 2022 respectively, and they are a Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. obtained in March 2022.
