Kees van Peer

Kees van Peer has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Kees started their career as a Product Manager at Ericsson Telecommunications, specifically focusing on Juniper Routers. Kees then worked at AT&T as a Network Architect, where they played a crucial role in the development of global NGN and IP transformation architecture.

Afterward, Kees moved on to the Ministery of Defense - DTO, where they worked as a Network Architect. During this time, they were responsible for project management, architecture design, and the secure interconnection of IP/MPLS networks.

Kees then joined Angola Telecom E.P. as the Chief Operations Officer (COO), where they oversaw service delivery nationwide. Kees implemented a new organizational structure, improved service quality, and ensured the network and service readiness for the nationwide launch of fixed wireless broadband service offering.

Following this role, Kees worked at Detecon International GmbH as a Managing Consultant, focusing on interim management, strategy, and technology consultancy services for telecommunications operators worldwide. Kees successfully executed numerous projects, including corporate strategy development, technology strategy development, network planning projects, and more.

Kees later joined PLDT, where they held two positions. As Group Head Technology Strategy and Transformation, they played a key role in shaping the company's technology strategy. Kees also established the Project Management Office (PMO) and transformed the company's culture to one of collaboration and accountability.

Their final position before their current role at Vodacom Moçambique was at PT. Indosat Tbk. As the Senior Vice President and Head of Technology Strategy & Partnerships, Kees achieved notable results such as launching 5G, developing the business strategy, and implementing a 3G sunset strategy.

Currently, Kees is working at Vodacom Moçambique as the Chief Technology Officer.

Kees van Peer holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Telecommunication & Innovation Policy from Eindhoven University of Technology, which they obtained from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering at Fontys University of Applied Sciences from 1993 to 1997. Kees also attended Thomas More College from 1988 to 1993, where they studied Hoger Algemeen Vormend Onderwijs (HAVO). Additionally, they have recently pursued a certification in iLead for Senior Vice Presidents from INSEAD in 2021.
