Azim Barodawala

Azim Barodawala is the Co-Founder & CEO at Volantio. Prior to this, they were the Head of Strategy at Jetstar Airways from January 2011 to December 2013.

At Jetstar, Azim led the strategic planning process for the Jetstar Group, working with all functional areas to develop a comprehensive and coordinated financial, strategic, and HR view of Jetstar for the coming 3 to 5 years. Azim also spearheaded the 12 month project to develop the business licensing contract to be signed by all Jetstar Branded Airlines, in order to ensure consistency of customer experience and the ability for Jetstar to maximize synergies across all its Asian investments.

In addition, Azim was responsible for leading the USD $25 million recapitalization process for Jetstar Pacific, coordinating with Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific, Qantas Treasury, and internal Jetstar stakeholders.

Finally, they developed and wrote the five year business plan for the first new stand alone brand in the Qantas Group since 2003 – the online accommodations site Hooroo.com. The plan was presented to and approved by the Qantas Board.

Azim Barodawala has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The Wharton School, a Master's Degree in International Studies from The Lauder Institute - University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy Studies / International Relations from Duke University.
