Piyush Desai

Piyush Desai is an experienced technology leader and entrepreneur, currently serving as the CTO and Cofounder of Volektra - Simply Electrik since May 2024, where a focus is placed on developing sustainable, magnet-free motor technology. Piyush had previously founded PD Consulting Inc. in May 2013, providing consulting services for technology development and mentoring emerging entrepreneurs. As Vice President and Cofounder at Turntide Technologies from January 2018 to May 2023, Piyush contributed to designing high-efficiency switched reluctance motors. Earlier roles include Product Development Director at Danfoss Solar Inverters, Leading Sr. Systems Engineer at The Switch, and Design Engineer at Woodward - MPC. Piyush earned a Ph.D. and MS in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and holds a BE in Instrumentation and Controls from Shantilal Shah Engineering College.
