David Metz

David Metz has a diverse work experience starting in 2003 as a University Information Technology Services Consultant at Indiana University. David then worked as a Lead Sales, Lead firedog Technician, and Senior In-Home at Circuit City from 2004 to 2007. David then transitioned into the wine industry, working as a Wine Consultant at Quality Wine & Spirits in 2007. From 2009 to 2011, they were a Wine Manager at Hinton's Savvy Cellar, followed by a role as Wine Director at Capital City Package Store from 2011 to 2012. David then became a Manager at Johns Creek Wine & Crystal from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, they joined Atlantic Wine as a Wine & Beer Consumption Specialist until 2015. From 2015 to 2023, David worked at Empire Distributors, Inc., first as a Fine Wine Specialist - Retail, and then as a District Manager - Fine Wine Retail. Most recently, they became the Regional Sales Director, Southeast at Volio Imports in 2023.

David Metz has a diverse education history. David began their academic journey in 2002 at Indiana University Bloomington, where they studied Informatics. After completing their studies there in 2004, they continued their education at Georgia State University Perimeter College. From 2004 to 2008, they focused on Business Administration.

In 2007, David enrolled at Georgia State University to pursue a degree in Business Economics. David dedicated three years to their studies, completing their program in 2010.

Aside from their formal education, David also obtained additional certifications. David became a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) through the Society of Wine Educators. Additionally, they obtained the WSET® Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, further enhancing their expertise in the field.
