Matthew Wheeler

Matthew Wheeler has over 30 years of work experience in the construction industry. Matthew started their career at Birse Construction Ltd in 1990 as a Quantity Surveyor, handling a variety of civil engineering and building contracts. Matthew later became a Managing Quantity Surveyor and managed the contractual and commercial aspects of water treatment plant projects. In 2002, they joined Birse Civils Ltd as a Commercial Manager, overseeing diverse civil engineering projects for public and private clients. Matthew also served as a Pre-Contracts Manager/Tender Manager, responsible for business development and competitive bidding. In 2011, Matthew joined VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd as a Divisional Commercial Director for their Civils division. Matthew successfully grew the division from £100m to over £200m per annum turnover. In 2022, they took on the role of Divisional Commercial Director for PreConstruction.

Matthew Wheeler attended Dartford Grammar School, although the years of their enrollment are unknown. After completing high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Quantity Surveying & Construction from the University of Greenwich. Matthew obtained the professional certifications FRICS from RICS in June 2009 and FCInstCES from the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) in October 2004.
