Barry Smith

Barry Smith has over 13 years of experience in the rail industry, currently serving as Director of Rail Systems at VolkerRail Ltd since May 2010. In this role, Barry leads teams in delivering projects across the UK, managing frameworks such as the National Train Control Framework and the S & T Framework for North West & Central. Barry also supports the delivery of Southern Track Renewals and has previously held the position of General Manager for Signalling & Telecoms, overseeing all aspects of signalling and telecom projects. Prior to VolkerRail, Barry was the Engineering Manager (East) at Jarvis from January 2007 to April 2010, where leadership encompassed multi-discipline engineering teams in the execution of rail projects. Notable achievements include successful project completions for major initiatives like Thameslink and Cambridge North Station.
