Mark Van Cooten has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mark began their career at Dick Smith Electronics as a Sales representative from February 2000 to January 2004. Mark then joined Yes Telecom, a cellphone provider, in March 2006 and worked there for five years. During their tenure, they held multiple positions, starting as a junior IT member and progressing to roles such as Billing Analyst, System Designer, Business Analyst, and Project Manager. Following this, Mark worked at Curam Software as a Project Developer from September 2011 to May 2012, where they provided technical implementation knowledge and collaborated with various stakeholders. Mark then joined IBM in July 2012 as a Technical Consultant for their Curam division until July 2015. At FNZ, Mark served as a Release and Environment Engineer from August 2015 to August 2018. Currently, Mark is working at Volpara Solutions, where they joined in September 2018 as a Release Engineer and later took up the role of Lead Site Reliability Engineer in December 2019.
Mark Van Cooten earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an undisclosed school from 1998 to 2003. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1997, they attended Freyberg High School in Palmerston North, where they achieved a B Bursary in various subjects including Physics, Maths (Calculus), English, Biology, and Chemistry.
