Abdul Mohammed

Associate Director, Genomic Applications at Volta Labs

Abdul Mohammed is the Associate Director of Genomic Applications at Volta Labs. Abdul has extensive experience in the innovation and development of technology, having worked as a Senior Scientist at Ultivue, Inc. and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology. Abdul obtained their graduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, where they developed a new class of materials using DNA. Their research has led to significant advances in nanotechnology, including the development of self-assembling nano-electronic/fluidic circuits.

Abdul Mohammed attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they earned a dual degree in Biotechnology (B.Tech, M.Tech). Abdul then attended The Johns Hopkins University, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

They work with Will Langford - Co-Founder & Head of Engineering, Akim Lenhoff - Principal Instrumentation Engineer, and Keith Farnsworth - Chief Commercial Officer. Abdul Mohammed reports to Udayan Umapathi, Co-Founder & CEO.
