Rama Krishna Simhadri

Rama Krishna Simhadri is a seasoned scientific professional with extensive experience in microbiome research and program management. Currently serving as a Scientific Program Manager at Volta Labs, Inc. since October 2024, Rama previously held multiple positions at Invaio Sciences from June 2017 to September 2024, including Associate Director, Senior Scientist, and Scientist. Rama's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular Biology and Biochemistry from Boston University, where work focused on the microbiome of Drosophila melanogaster and the impact of Wolbachia on gut microbiome composition. Additionally, extensive teaching experience as a Teaching Fellow in cell and molecular biology supplements the research background, which encompasses roles such as Summer Research Fellow at Columbia University Medical Center and undergraduate researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
