Shermaine Mitchell-Ryan

Shermaine Mitchell-Ryan is a Scientific Program Manager at the Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI) since 2019, leading collaborative programs in human and environmental health, with a focus on immune safety, allergenic proteins, and developmental and reproductive toxicology. Prior experience includes serving as a Science and Technology Fellow at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) from 2016 to 2018, where research support was provided to the National Science Foundation (NSF) and communications strategies were developed to promote diversity in STEM. Academic credentials include a PhD in Oncology and Cancer Biology from Wayne State University School of Medicine, along with two Master's degrees in the same field from Georgetown University and the University of the District of Columbia, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Mary's College of Maryland. Additional roles held include various educational and supervisory positions between 1999 and 2014.
