Caroline Walerud

Caroline Walerud has a wealth of experience in the tech and entrepreneurship fields. In 2020, they became the Executive Chairman, Cofounder & Investor of AirForestry, a company that is #ReinventingForestry with electric drones. From 2012 to 2015, they were the Executive Chairman and Cofounder of Volumental and CEO and Cofounder during Volumental's first three years, growing the team from four founders to 20 people and bringing in $3M in venture capital from Silicon Valley and Stockholm and almost $2M in grants from Sweden and the EU. From 2015 to 2020, they have been an Advisory Board Member at STING - Stockholm Innovation & Growth, an Entrepreneur and Member of Prince Daniel's Fellowship, a Partner at Walerud Ventures, a Mentor at Creative Destruction Lab, a Board Member at Swedish Algae Factory, a Jury Member for Rivstart, an Impact Startup Competition at Swedbank, and a Member of the Government's Entrepreneurship Reference Group at Regeringskansliet. Caroline has also been a Consultant and Research Assistant at Stockholm School of Economics since 2012.

Caroline Walerud obtained their MA (Cantab) in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge between 2008 and 2011. Prior to that, they earned an International Baccalaureate from Stockholm International School between 2002 and 2008. In addition, they have obtained certifications from the StyrelseAkademien, including Rätt Fokus i Styrelsearbetet - Noterade Bolag, Påbyggnadsutbildning in March 2022 and Rätt Fokus i Styrelsearbetet (SME) in June 2018. Caroline has also obtained a Certified Open Water Diver from PADI, an EU Driver's licence from Sweden, and a French Intermediate Advanced level of proficiency (B2 in CECR rating) from Alliance Française de Nice.
