Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC)
Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is the state's oldest and largest outdoor stewardship organization. Since 1984, the nonprofit has engaged more than 115,000 people of all ages and backgrounds in over 1,000 volunteer projects to build and restore trails, plant trees, remove invasive species, and perform fire and flood restoration on public lands throughout the state - a total donated labor value of nearly $23 million. In addition to public volunteer projects, VOC also hosts custom corporate volunteer projects, the award-winning high school Cairn Youth Program, and immersive "Play, Learn, and Care" programs at middle schools. VOC serves as a critical resource for public land managers in Colorado from the local to federal level, and works to expand other groups' capacity for volunteer stewardship through the hands-on Outdoor Stewardship Institute (OSI) training program, the online Stepping Up Stewardship Toolkit (steppingupstewardship.org), partnership offices, consulting services, and the Colorado Outdoor Stewardship Coalition (COSC).
