Alexis Degan has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. They started their career as an Assistant at the Camden County Democrat Committee in 2009. In 2010, they worked as an Employee at Camden County Constituent Services. From 2012 to 2014, they served as the Communications Director for the State of New Jersey, where they managed outgoing communications and built the district's social media presence. In 2014, they became the Chief of Staff for the New Jersey Fifth Legislative District, overseeing team building, job training, and media operations. In 2018, they worked as a Media Specialist at Companion Services Group and concurrently served as the Executive Director for the New Jersey Brewers Association until 2020. Currently, Alexis Degan holds the position of Vice President of Development and Communications at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley.
Alexis Degan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing from Ithaca College, where they attended from 2001 to 2005.

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is the Greater Philadelphia regional affiliate of Volunteers of America, a national, faith-based nonprofit founded in 1896. Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is a professional human services organization that annually serves more than 11,000 men, women and children in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. We shelter homeless people and help them find permanent housing. We help people struggling with behavioral health issues or development disabilities. And we help ex-offenders re-enter their communities, reconcile with their families, and resume their working lives.
