Michael Tanner

Michael Tanner is a versatile professional with extensive experience in development, writing, and coordination within the arts and nonprofit sectors. Currently serving as a Development Assistant at Volunteers of America Western Washington since August 2022, Michael has also maintained a long-standing role as Co-Creator and Co-Writer of the graphic novel series "Junior Braves of the Apocalypse" and "Orcs in Space" with Oni Press since December 2010. Previous experience includes a Senior Founders Coordinator position at The Music Center of Los Angeles County (2019-2022), where Michael managed donor relations and event coordination, as well as Founders Coordinator roles at The Los Angeles Music Center (2004-2019). Earlier positions include Referee Training Coordinator with LA Derby Dolls (2007-2016), Assistant Manager of Operations at Seattle Children's Museum (2003-2004), and House Manager at Artswest Theater (2001-2003). Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Television and Theater Production from The Evergreen State College, obtained in 2001.
