Tom van Doorn

Tom van Doorn has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Tom currently works as a Data lead at VonWood, a marketplace for scheduled timber. In this role, they enable users to buy wood products directly from sawmills. Prior to this, Tom worked as a Buyer Success Manager & Data Specialist at VonWood.

Tom also has experience at Zapp, where they initially worked as a Performance Analysis responsible for dark store launches and implementing operational processes. Later, they focused on daily operational analysis and driving improvement opportunities. At Techstars, Tom was an Operations Associate, assisting the program manager with the daily operations of the Future of Finance Accelerator.

Tom was also the Co-Founder of Lokale Markten, a platform for local market entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. Tom co-created and managed the platform, which allowed entrepreneurs to sell their goods and consolidated and shipped orders for consumers.

Additionally, Tom worked as a Thesis Student at TNO and as a Working Student at Deloitte Nederland, where they were part of the Master Data Management team. Tom also served as the Head of Community at Volareo, a Dutch startup that developed a blockchain-connected smart assistant.

Furthermore, Tom gained experience as a Summer Intern (Campaign Support) at Travis the Translator, where they coordinated a crowdfunding campaign and managed marketing and press efforts. Tom also worked as a Student Assistant at ACM - Autoriteit Consument & Markt, creating smart templates for multiple departments.

Lastly, Tom chaired the IdeaLab Committee at ECE Students, where they redefined the concept of an idealab event, resulting in increased attendance and budget. This event allowed students to research and analyze real startup case studies and present recommendations.

Tom van Doorn completed their education history as follows:

From 2018 to 2020, they pursued a Master's degree in Business Information Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

Prior to that, from 2015 to 2018, they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

In 2017, they participated in an Erasmus Exchange program at Università Bocconi, though the specific field of study is not indicated.

Their education journey began in 2009 and lasted until 2015 at Stanislas College, where they completed the Voorbereidend Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs (Preparatory Scientific Education) program, commonly known as VWO.

Furthermore, they obtained the Cambridge Track Certificate of Proficiency in English from Cambridge English Language Assessment in July 2014.
