Antonio Adao da Fonseca

Antonio Adao da Fonseca is a distinguished Principal Structural Engineer and Partner at Balmond & Adao Consulting, Ltd., collaborating with renowned artist and structural engineer Cecil Balmond since March 2016. With extensive experience in bridge and special structures, Adao da Fonseca serves as Director at both ADEAM Engenharia e Consultoria, Ltda and ADAO DA FONSECA - Engenheiros Consultores, Lda. Additionally, Adao da Fonseca has contributed to the field through advisory roles, including a position on the Advisory Council of VORTAL Connecting Business and membership on the Ethics Council of the University of Porto. An accomplished educator, Adao da Fonseca held several academic positions, including Full Professor at the University of Porto and invited Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the Autonomous University of Lisbon. Adao da Fonseca completed a PhD in Structural Engineering from Imperial College London and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Universidade do Porto.
