St-Jean's work experience also includes a role as a Payroll Clerk in the Employee Services (Special Cases) division at Bell Canada from July 1998 to April 2003.

Hugue St-Jean attended Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) from 2007 to 2009, where they pursued a field of study in Business Administration and Management, but did not earn a specific degree. Prior to that, between 2003 and 2007, Hugue also obtained certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner from the Canadian Payroll Association. In August 2022, they earned a certification named "10 mythes sur la diversité et l'inclusion au travail" from LinkedIn.
