In 2011, they began their professional journey as a Communications Fellow at Women's Campaign Forum, where they managed social media platforms, wrote articles, and drafted weekly news alerts. They continued their career at NGP VAN as a Sales Coordinator, drafting emails and providing research updates to clients. In 2012, they served as a Deputy Digital Director at Americans for Tax Fairness, monitoring media clips for content generation. From 2013 to 2014, they worked at Beekeeper Group as an Account Manager, focusing on client account management and strategic content writing. At Applyfit.com, Tatenda owned and wrote for the website, exploring the intersection of health, wellness, and technology and implementing social media strategies. In 2014, they briefly served as Deputy Digital Director at The New Media Firm before transitioning to the role of Lead Digital Strategist. In this position, they developed online advertising strategies and marketed the firm's capabilities. Their extensive digital expertise landed them a job at Facebook as a Client Solutions Manager from 2015 to 2019. During this time, they were responsible for managing client accounts and advertising solutions. They then joined Lockwood Strategy Lab and ACRONYM as a Senior Director of Campaigns, leading campaign efforts. Finally, in 2021, Tatenda founded their own organization, the Voter Formation Project, where they currently serve as Founder and CEO.
Tatenda Musapatike completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and French at Davidson College from 2006 to 2010. Tatenda then pursued their Master of Public Administration degree in Political Communication at the School of Public Affairs, American University from 2010 to 2012. In 2008, they had a study abroad experience at New York University in Paris. Prior to their college education, Tatenda attended Norfolk Academy.
