Khalid Pitts is Vice President of Policy, Advocacy, and Coalitions at The Rockefeller Foundation. Khalid’s roles have also included Principal Partner at Democracy Partners, National Political Director at the Sierra Club, President and Board Chairman of USAction, Founder and Executive Board Co-Chair of Health Care for America Now (HCAN, where he helped build a coalition of over 1,000 organizations representing 30 million people) and Executive Board Member of the Coalition of Human Needs. Previous positions include serving as Director of Strategic Campaigns at SEIU, State Director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, Director of Health Analysis and Outcomes at the Central Detention Facility at the United States District Court, and Senior Researcher at the National Institutes of Health. In addition, Khalid is co-owner of Cork Wine Bar and Market, where he has helped ensure the culinary and financial success of a multimillion-dollar small business in Washington, DC since 2007.
