Emer McArthur has a long history of work experience in the technology industry. Emer began their career in 2002 as a Technical Lead, Team Lead & Software Developer at Orbis Technology (NDS Group Company). In 2004, they moved to AOL, where they worked as a Software Engineer. In 2006, they returned to Orbis Technology (NDS Group Company) as a Senior Developer. From 2007 to 2014, they worked at Specialist Computer Holdings PLC as a Catalogue Manager. During this time, they also worked at Capita as a Support Team Lead, managing the day to day running of Tier1, Tier2 and Assist Managed Service teams, and carrying out Tier2 analysis for core products, SaaS and client based. In 2018, they joined Voxpopme as a Technical Support Manager and Technical Support Lead.

Emer McArthur attended University College Cork from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a 2H1 in Computer Science.
