Paul Strand

Paul Strand has a diverse work experience, with their most recent role being SVP Sr Portfolio Manager & Research Analyst, Equities at Voya Investment Management since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Allianz Global Investors from July 2003 to July 2022, where they held the position of Portfolio Manager/Senior Analyst in the Global Resources department. Their work there was highly successful, consistently ranking in the top quartile or better against Morningstar peer groups.

Before joining Allianz, Paul worked at Advantus Capital Management as an Analyst from 1999 to 2003, where they covered the Energy and Consumer Staples sectors. Paul developed their investment framework, improving stock selection and achieving portfolio performance in the top 1/3 of the peer group.

Paul began their career in the investment business at RBC (formerly Dain Bosworth) as a Portfolio Analyst from 1996 to 1999. Their role involved creating and managing model portfolios for Financial Advisors.

Prior to their career in finance, Paul served in the US Navy as a Naval Flight Officer from 1987 to 1996. Paul completed high attrition Aviation Officer Candidate School and achieved the rank of #2 in their flight school class. Paul also made multiple deployments in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm and participated in NATO exercises.

Paul Strand earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where they studied from 1982 to 1987. Paul later pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from National University, completing their studies between 1993 and 1995.
