Bret Smart

Bret Smart has a diverse range of work experience spanning over 15 years. Bret is the Co-founder and COO of Voyager, a workflow management solution for the bulk shipping value chain that integrates into existing systems and provides advanced analytics. Prior to their role at Voyager, Bret worked as a Consultant at Partners in Performance from 2015 to 2017. Bret also served as a Business Analyst at Stolt-Nielsen Limited from 2010 to 2013. Bret has experience in project analysis as a Project Analyst at ExxonMobil SeaRiver in 2009 and as a Surveyor at the American Bureau of Shipping in the same year. Bret also worked as a Structural Engineer at Noble Denton in 2008. Bret's early career includes roles as a Field Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2007, a Deck Cadet/Engine Room Wiper in the US Coast Guard in 2006, and a Steelworker at Gulf Marine Repair Corporation in the same year.

Bret Smart has a well-rounded education background, which includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from INSEAD in 2014. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they completed between 2009 and 2010. Bret Smart's undergraduate studies were focused on Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, as they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Webb Institute in 2009, after four years of study.
