Johnny Yao

Johnny Yao has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and research industry. Johnny is currently the Director of Pharmacological Sciences in Translational Research at Voyager Therapeutics, Inc. since March 2022. Prior to that, Johnny worked at Pfizer for almost a decade, from September 2011 to August 2020, as a Principal Scientist in Targeted Therapeutics Discovery, Oncology R&D. Johnny also held a position as a BioResources Principal Research Scientist at Ayerst-Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Incorporated from August 2006 to September 2011. Before that, Johnny served as the Head of Ion Channel Pharmacology, Safety Pharmacology at Quintiles, Inc from March 2003 to April 2006. Johnny started their professional career at Columbia University in the City of New York as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Associate Research Scientist from May 1991 to March 2003.

Johnny Yao attended Peking University Health Science Center from 1984 to 1990, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmacology. Following this, they pursued postdoctoral studies at Columbia University from 1991 to 1993, specializing in Pharmacology.
