Senior Scientist II, Head of Histology & Spatial-omics at Voyager Therapeutics

Nilesh Pande has a diverse work experience in the field of histology and neuroscience research. Nilesh currently holds the position of Senior Scientist II and Head of Histology & Spatial-omics at Voyager Therapeutics, Inc. In this role, they lead the Histology Core and is responsible for developing and performing tissue-based staining methodologies, image acquisition and analysis, and precision profiling techniques.

Prior to their current role, Nilesh served as a Senior Scientist I and Head of Histology at Voyager Therapeutics, where they were instrumental in developing and performing novel histology techniques, handling and processing tissue samples, and leading the evaluation of new histology-driven techniques.

Before joining Voyager Therapeutics, Nilesh worked as a Principal Research Associate at Sanofi. In this role, they studied the expression of potential remyelination targets in mouse models and human tissues using immunohistochemistry. Nilesh also led cross-functional collaborations for analyzing neurological markers and managed the outsourcing of histology services.

Nilesh's earlier work experience includes roles as an Associate Scientist at Biogen Idec, where they focused on routine histology and assay development in immunohistochemistry, and as a Senior Research Associate at Genzyme Corporation, where they specialized in cell-based assay development and analysis of digital images.

Nilesh Pande pursued their Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Amravati University, graduating in 2003. Nilesh then went on to complete their Master's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Lowell between 2005 and 2008. In 2016, Nilesh enrolled in the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, where they graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies in 2020.
