Sajan Shrestha

Senior Photonics Engineer at Voyant Photonics

Sajan Shrestha has been working in the field of photonics since 2013. In 2013, they began working as a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia University in the City of New York, where they explored design frameworks for novel optical devices using metasurface platform resulting in multiple publication in high impact factor journals. Sajan also demonstrated broadband chromatic aberration correction for metasurface based lenses and designed various single-layer and multi-element metasurfaces for imaging applications. During their time at Columbia, they also served as a Science Honors Program Teaching Instructor and a Graduate Teaching Assistant. In 2020, Sajan began working at Voyant Photonics as a Senior Photonics Engineer. In this role, they are utilizing advances in silicon photonics to bring the next generation of LIDARs delivering high performance at low costs for self-driving cars, robots, drones and remote sensing.

Sajan Shrestha obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Solid State and Optical Physics (Applied Physics) from Columbia University between 2013 and 2019.
