Dr. Thomas Gitzel

Dr. Thomas Gitzel currently serves as Chefvolkswirt and Senior Economist - Vice President at VP Bank AG since July 2011. Prior experience includes a role as Konzern-Volkswirt Market Intelligence & Economic Research at Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG from September 2010 to June 2011 and as Senior Economist at LBBW Landesbank Baden-Württemberg from November 2001 to September 2010. Dr. Gitzel holds a doctoral degree in Außenwirtschaftslehre from the University of Hohenheim (2004-2006) and a Diplom in Volkswirtschaftslehre from the University of Tübingen (1995-2001). Additionally, Dr. Gitzel attended UMass Boston (1998-1999) and completed training as a journalist at the Institut zur Förderung Publizistischen Nachwuchses (1995-1998).
