Rahul Choudhuri has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Rahul began their career as a Ship Captain in 1978 and worked in various roles until 1991. Rahul then joined DNV Petroleum Services and served as the Operations Manager until 2003. From 2004 to 2013, they held the position of Regional Manager at DNV Petroleum Services, responsible for managing all company activities and services in the Asia Pacific region. In 2013, Rahul took on the role of COO at VPS after the company was bought out by private equity IK INVESTMENT PARTNERS. Rahul was involved in the separation process from DNV GL and played a key role in setting the future growth strategy for VPS. In 2015, they became the Managing Director for Asia, Middle East & Africa at VPS, where they led the sales team and executed the regional growth strategy. Currently, Rahul serves as the President of Strategic Partnerships at VPS. Alongside their professional roles, they have also contributed to various industry committees and associations, including the Board Member at The International Bunker Industry Association, Chairman of the Technical Committee for Bunkering (Ambient Liquid Fuels), and Chairman of the Committee at Singapore Shipping Association (SSA).
Rahul Choudhuri completed their education with a diploma in Shipping and Port Management from the University of Delaware in 1992. Prior to that, in 1988, they achieved a Master Mariner degree from the Australian Maritime College. In 1995, Rahul pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in International Business from Henley Business School, which they successfully completed in 1998. Subsequently, they participated in the Senior Management Program at IMD, completing it in 2007.
