Dr. Yousef Awwad has an extensive work experience spanning across various sectors. Dr. Yousef Awwad is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VisionQuest National, a position they assumed in January 2023. Prior to this role, Dr. Awwad served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of VisionQuest National from September 2020 to January 2023.
In addition to their role at VisionQuest National, Dr. Awwad is also an Associate Faculty at the University of Arizona Global Campus, starting from December 2021.
Before their current positions, Dr. Awwad founded Awwadco Consulting in November 2017 and served as the President. Awwadco Consulting offers a range of services, including budget planning, financial analysis, and enterprise resource planning support.
Dr. Awwad has also held teaching positions at the University of Arizona, where they served as an Adjunct Professor from June 2017 to December 2020, and at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, where they were the Vice President of Finance/CFO from August 2019 to October 2020.
Prior to their roles in the education sector, Dr. Awwad worked at Portland Public Schools, where they held multiple positions, including Deputy Chief Executive Officer, CEO, and CFO. Dr. Yousef Awwad was responsible for directing financial, payroll, and procurement activities at this $1.5 billion educational institution.
Before joining Portland Public Schools, Dr. Awwad worked at Tucson Unified School District as the Deputy Superintendent from July 2013 to October 2014 and as the CFO from May 2011 to June 2013. Dr. Yousef Awwad played a crucial role in the financial planning and operational activities of this $500 million school district.
Dr. Awwad's professional journey started at the Arizona Department of Education, where they served as the Director of Finance. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the financial operations of School Finance, managing the allocation of over $5 billion in state aid funding to various entities across the State of Arizona.

Dr. Yousef Awwad earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Jordan in 1993. Dr. Yousef Awwad then pursued a Master of Business Administration from Webster University, completing their degree in 2006. In 2012, Dr. Awwad attended the Project Management Certificate Program at the University of Arizona. Dr. Yousef Awwad later pursued further education and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Policy Studies & Practice, which they attended from 2013 to 2014 at the University of Arizona. Dr. Awwad also attended the University of Portland, where they obtained a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Organizational leadership and development from 2015 to 2018.
In addition to their degrees, Dr. Awwad holds several certifications. Dr. Yousef Awwad became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the Oregon Board of Accountancy in 2014 and the Arizona Board of Accountancy in 2020. Dr. Yousef Awwad also obtained a Superintendent-Administrative certification from TSPC in June 2017. Furthermore, Dr. Awwad holds a COSO Internal Control Certificate from COSO in 2016 and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Dr. Awwad's commitment to professional development is evident with their completion of the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Additionally, they are currently enrolled in the Grant Management Certificate Program at Management Concepts, with an expected completion date in 2023.
