Monda Kelley

Monda Kelley has a diverse and extensive work experience. Monda started their career as an Adjunct Professor at the Community College of Vermont in 2016. Prior to that, they worked at the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) as a Talent Search Outreach Counselor since 1998. In this role, they provided outreach counseling and support to students. Before joining VSAC, Monda served as the High School Career Education Coordinator, English Teacher, and Training Employment Specialist at Otter Valley Union High School from 1989 to 1998. In this position, they were responsible for training and providing employment skills to students in grades 7-12, ensuring compliance with individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with various agencies.

Earlier in their career, Monda worked as an Employment Training Specialist for students and adults with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) at Rutland Community Programs - Rutland Mental Health from 1987 to 1989. Monda'smain responsibilities included intake, training, and employment support for individuals with TBI. Monda also worked with adults on resume building, interview etiquette, and on-the-job training, as well as job development and marketing participant skills.

Monda's career also included roles at Vermont Technical College as an English Professor in 1988 and at Mount Saint Joseph Academy as an English Teacher from 1986 to 1987. Monda began their career in 1983 at Johnson State College, where they worked in the Upward Bound program. In this role, Monda provided counseling and teaching support to students in grades 9-11, including subjects such as English, study skills, and outdoor education activities.

Monda Kelley obtained a BFA in Writing from Johnson State College. Monda completed this degree between the years 1981 and 1985. Later on, Monda pursued a M.Ed in Education at the University of Vermont, from 1990 to 1993.
