Alexander Stimpson has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Alexander worked as an AI Chief Scientist at VT Group (VTG) since February 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Mission and Behavior Planning Manager at American Haval Motor Technology LLC from December 2017 to January 2020. Alexander was also a Co-Founder of Autonometrics, LLC, where they developed the company structure, promotional materials, and products. Alexander managed contracts and subcontractors and successfully completed projects in autonomous systems. At Duke University, they held positions as a Research Scientist and a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Humans and Autonomy Laboratory, providing research guidance and leading teams to accomplish grant goals. Before that, they served as the Director of R&D at Cryoocyte, overseeing the scientific team and managing the research and development plan. Alexander's early work experience includes being a Doctoral Candidate and a Graduate Student at MIT, where they worked on projects involving machine learning algorithms, developing metrics, and conducting experiments.
Alexander Stimpson received their Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Engineering from the University of Florida, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. Alexander further pursued their education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering. Alexander earned both their S.M. and Ph.D. degrees from MIT, completing their studies from 2008 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, they obtained the Jira Fundamentals Badge from Atlassian in March 2023.
