Joris Buffels

Joris Buffels has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Joris is currently a Board Member at ISPE Belgium Affiliate vzw since January 2024. Prior to this, they worked at VTU Group as the Managing Director for VTU Engineering Belgium and also as a Business Development Representative. Joris was with VTU Group from October 2021 to the present. Before joining VTU Group, Joris held multiple positions at Exyte, including Head of Business Development & Sales Continental Europe – North, Head of Branch Office Belgium, and Head of Operations Life Sciences Benelux. Joris worked at Exyte from June 2014 to September 2021. Joris also served as a Board Member at PILS Group from May 2018 to August 2021. Earlier in their career, they worked at Group-IPS in roles such as Business Development & Operational Manager, Senior Project Engineer, Project Engineer, and Junior Project Engineer. Joris started their professional journey as a Phd research fellow at KU Leuven's Centre for surface science and catalysis from September 2005 to December 2006.

Joris Buffels has a Master's degree in Engineering in Chemistry and Bio-Chemistry from KU Leuven, which they obtained from 2000 to 2005. Joris also attended Vlerick Business School in 2018, where they studied The People Manager. Joris has taken additional courses in Biochemical Engineering at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Technische Universität Wien. Joris also completed an introductory course in Chinese (Mandarin) at Centrum voor Levende Talen. Joris has prior education at Jan-van-Ruusbroeckollege from 1994 to 2000, but no specific degree or field of study is provided.
